

…..Education Commissioner recounts journey behind KSU Kabba’s establishment, applauds Bello and Ododo for transforming and sustaining the institution’s visionThe Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, has charged students of Kogi State University (KSU), Kabba, to remain focused, committed, disciplined, and prayerful as they pursue their academic and personal aspirations.
The Commissioner gave the charge during the 2026 Students’ Week Celebration of Kogi State University, Kabba, where he addressed students, management, staff, and other stakeholders of the institution.Speaking at the event, Hon. Jones encouraged the students not to be discouraged by the challenges they may encounter in life and in their academic pursuits. According to him, perseverance, determination, discipline, and faith remain essential ingredients for success.
He urged the students to stay committed to their studies, remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence, and continue to work diligently towards achieving their dreams and aspirations.The Commissioner also took the opportunity to narrate the inspiring journey that culminated in the establishment of Kogi State University, Kabba, describing it as a dream that became a reality through visionary leadership, commitment, and collective efforts.
He expressed profound appreciation to the immediate past Governor of Kogi State for making the long-awaited dream of establishing the university come to fruition. He noted that the creation of the institution has opened new opportunities for educational advancement and socio-economic development in the state.
Hon. Jones equally commended the incumbent Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, for sustaining the vision and providing the necessary support to ensure the continued growth and development of the university.
He emphasized that the present administration remains committed to strengthening the education sector and creating an enabling environment for students to thrive academically and contribute meaningfully to society.The Students’ Week Celebration provided a platform for reflection, inspiration, and engagement among students, while also highlighting the university’s progress and its growing role in shaping future leaders.The event attracted members of the university community, student leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders who joined in celebrating the achievements and aspirations of Kogi State University, Kabba.
